Greendale Group has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials certification with support from Nexus Open Systems, marking an important milestone in the organisation’s commitment to cyber security, resilience and future growth.
Cyber Essentials is a UK Government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against the most common cyber threats. By achieving certification, Greendale Group has demonstrated that it has implemented essential technical controls to strengthen its systems and safeguard its business, employees and customers.
Building strong foundations for future growth
For Greendale Group, Cyber Essentials was about much more than meeting a compliance requirement. As the organisation continues to grow and invest across its diverse operations, strengthening its cyber security foundations has become increasingly important.
Nexus worked closely with the Greendale team throughout the certification process. This included assessing its systems, identifying areas for improvement and helping to implement the technical and operational controls required by the Cyber Essentials standard.
The collaborative approach helped make the process clear and manageable while ensuring Greendale was fully prepared for its assessment.
Stuart Wilson, Managing Director at Nexus Open Systems, said:
More than a certificate
Cyber security threats affect organisations of every size and sector. Cyber Essentials helps businesses reduce their exposure to common attacks by introducing practical controls across areas such as firewalls, secure configuration, user access, malware protection and security updates.
Certification can also help organisations:
- Demonstrate their commitment to cyber security
- Provide reassurance to customers, partners and suppliers
- Meet requirements within regulated industries and public-sector supply chains
- Support applications for cyber insurance
- Reduce the risk of common cyber attacks
For Greendale Group, certification forms part of a broader programme of investment in technology and cyber security, helping the organisation remain well positioned for continued expansion.
Alec Carter, Director at Greendale Group, said:
Supporting organisations through Cyber Essentials
Nexus has helped organisations across the South West and beyond achieve Cyber Essentials certification. Our team provides guidance across the technical, operational and administrative requirements of the scheme, from initial assessment and remediation through to certification and ongoing support.
Our aim is to make Cyber Essentials part of a wider, long-term security strategy, not simply a one-off compliance exercise.
Stuart added:
“One of the most rewarding parts of our role is celebrating these milestones alongside our clients. We know how much work goes into achieving Cyber Essentials, and it’s fantastic to see organisations like Greendale making cyber security a strategic priority.
“We’re proud to support businesses through certification, helping them improve resilience, meet customer expectations and create a stronger platform for future success.”
