A team of brave Nexus staff have taken on a mammoth challenge and agreed to walk from ‘Axe to Exe’ on 16th September 2022.
The walk starts at the River Axe in Axmouth and finishes at the River Exe in Exmouth. The 35km ‘Xpedition’ takes the team along the brutal but beautiful coastal path and makes its way up and down the incredibly hilly, but outstanding Jurassic Coast. Completing the walk in one day is no mean feat, especially for those who have admitted to doing little to no exercise since 2009!
This is all part of Nexus’s pledge to raise £1000 as members of Hospiscare’s 40 club. The team consists of Alex Simpson, Andy Slywka, Dave Holmes, Harriet James-Lee, Ian Cadwallader, Josh Page, Leah Doe, Mark Runciman and Simon Gammon who are each collecting sponsorship for the hefty hike.
Nexus funds all the costs of doing the challenge so all money donated can go to Hospiscare. With our previous cycling challenge raising £830, we’re on the right path to going far beyond our target of £1000!
