Over 120 people in one room for stories of inspiration, educational workshops, plentiful networking and brilliant celebrations!
We recently hosted our biggest event to date: Nexus Presents: Brilliance, in celebration of our 25th year anniversary on Thursday 5th October at The Forge at Winslade Manor.
A hugely anticipated all-day business conference saw over 120 business professionals, managers and leaders from across the country come together to learn, debate and celebrate.
We were delighted to bring together world class tech leaders such as Dell Technologies alongside local successes such as The Met Office, Exeter City Council, Launch Online, Stephens Scown, the South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit and many more to discuss technology, culture, cyber security and business growth. It turned out to be a fascinating day of thought leadership, insight and networking.

All sponsors hosted exhibitors’ tables where delegates got the chance to talk directly to their representatives about their products and services and how their solutions could support their businesses.
Dan Pritchard from Tech South West was there to host a panel debate where delegates also got the chance to share their thoughts on key topics which most excited them for 2024 and those which had them most concerned, including AI, the financial crisis, 5G, recruitment struggles and governmental changes to name a few. Delving into these topics, Dan was joined on stage by Jonathan Murch from the Met Office, Amy Ralston from Stephens Scown, Julius Clayton from Dell Technologies, David Woodfine from the Cyber Security Associates and Nexus Operations Director John Brett, who discussed these topics at length.
To encapsulate the insight that was shared on the day, we will be publishing a post-event report to all delegates which will outline the key themes of the day, top insights, and advice that was shared.

Our Charity of the year, Hospiscare, were also there to enjoy the day and were pleasantly surprised to receive an unexpected donation of £500 to support their cause, following surplus funds from the event ticket sales. Ellie Williams and Sarah Smith joined Stuart Wilson up on stage to receive their very welcomed donation as Stuart confirmed that Hospiscare would continue to be Nexus’s charity of the year for 2024.
Following the day of learnings and insights, we then hosted an after party at The Terrace in Exeter where the celebrations and conversations continued into the early hours.
An existing success, ‘Nexus Presents’ is a series of non-salesy seminars with the emphasis on knowledge-sharing and networking. The regular events, although smaller than their 25th edition, will continue, with our next planned for January 2024.
