Racing for Hospiscare: Our Charity of the Year
Hospiscare has been our charity of the year for the last three years, and being part of the Devon Business League helps us continue that support in an exciting, hands-on way. The league raised an incredible £100,000 in 2024, money that helps provide compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, Mid, and East Devon.
For us, supporting Hospiscare is personal. We’ve seen firsthand the impact they have, not just through the stories of the people they support, but also through our own team members who’ve taken part in skydives, cycling challenges, and now karting races to help raise funds. It’s not just about donating money; it’s about standing side-by-side with a charity that truly makes a difference in our local area.
Team Bonding at 50mph
Karting is a thrill, but it’s also a brilliant way to bring people together. We’ve got a few team members who are seriously keen go-karters, and they’re loving the chance to show off their skills down at the local track at Raceworld. But even for the less experienced racers, it’s been amazing to see how the league has helped build connections across different parts of our business.

We’ve got to give a big shout-out to Raceworld for the incredible job they do running the league. From the perfectly prepped karts to the friendly marshals and the atmosphere on race nights, everything is spot on. They’ve created more than just a competition; they’ve built a community where local businesses come together, have fun, and support a great cause.
Networking Opportunities
One of the unexpected perks of the Devon Business League has been the networking opportunities. We’ve met some fantastic people from businesses across Devon and the conversations flow much more naturally when you’re talking about a nail-biting overtake instead of passing business cards around a conference room. It turns out that karting is a surprisingly great icebreaker!
Gearing Up for 2025
When we were offered the opportunity of becoming silver sponsor for the 2025 league, it aligned perfectly with our values and was an extremely easy decision.
We can feel how excited the nearly 100 organisations are to get started this March, not just for the competition on the track but the anticipation of what figure we might reach for Hospiscare after smashing the £100,000 mark last year. Every one of us is really behind the importance of raising money from this league – it’s our number one goal.
