Enterprise LAN & WAN
The local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) we supply to support data centre, campus and branch office infrastructures are streamlined, efficient and policy-driven networks that are responsive to changing application and service demands.
Your data centre is at the heart of your distributed computing environment, so network switching, routing and management capabilities must meet demands for peak performance, flexibility, scalability and resiliency. Regardless of whether your LAN or WAN is for a small workgroup, large enterprise, intranet or portal, high-performance computing environment or cloud hosting service, we offer consultancy and analysis or systems design services to build a network to support your current and future plans.
Our team of certified network consultants and engineers can help you build innovative network topologies that provide enterprise performance and deliver simplified deployment automation, while supporting standards-based management capabilities - helping to reduce overall Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
We help organisations to be agile as demands continue to change; it is essential that your LAN and WAN can quickly adapt rather than having to “rip and replace” large portions of your network in order to comply with new requirements.
The LAN and WAN infrastructures we install and configure are designed to support the latest virtualisation and unified communications technologies for even the most challenging of computing environments. We create flexible and dependable networks that guarantee bandwidth and resources are available for voice, video and data applications

Wireless Network Connectivity
The wireless networks and Wi-Fi solutions we supply are designed to connect IT and communication systems, mobile devices and appliances, or attach campus buildings to your corporate network.
We design wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions incorporating access points, controllers, management platforms and structured cabling, which provide the highest levels of performance and flexibility.
With the increasing demand for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) or guest Wi-Fi access, it is imperative that you have the control and management tools to offer a single integrated wireless network architecture that encompasses the ability to manage network policies, devices, users and applications.
To take advantage of mobile computing or inter-site connectivity, your organisation needs wireless technology that is up to the task. Nexus offer network audits and health checks or wireless site surveys to help you to better manage or expand your wireless network infrastructure. We can provide wireless planning and analysis services to identify risks, map out your environment and recommend a solution to optimise wireless network performance and coverage.
For outdoor environments or campus connectivity we supply high-capacity, multiservice wireless mesh networks that are optimised for high bandwidth applications. We can combine high performance multi-radio architecture and intelligent routing. Our team of consultants and engineers are experts at installing and configuring innovative wireless technologies for businesses, academic institutions or large enterprise computing environments.
Our portfolio of networking partners offer high-performance wireless connectivity solutions that meet even the most demanding requirements for security, privacy, scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Remote access solutions from Nexus help organisations to introduce workplace flexibility and improve IT management and security.
You can increase productivity and efficiency by allowing your mobile and home workers, IT administrators, partners and customers to access business- critical applications and resources using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection or alternative remote access method.
Remote access is often delivered using a network service in Windows Server or network appliance that provides the following features:
- Dial-up remote access server
- Virtual private network (VPN) remote access server
- Internet Protocol (IP) router for connecting subnets of a private network
- Network address translator (NAT) for connecting a private network to the internet
- Dial-up and VPN site-to-site demand-dial router
Nexus can help your organisation to enable Microsoft Remote Access services that combine DirectAccess and RRAS to provide centralised administration, configuration and monitoring of DirectAccess, routing and VPN-based remote access services.
Firewalls & Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
We design, supply and support firewall and VPN technologies that protect and extend your network infrastructure and information with a unified security architecture that simplifies management and ensures consistent, up-to-date security everywhere.
Firewalls provide protection from malicious users and programs that rely on unsolicited incoming traffic to attack computers. Our engineers can help you to install and configure firewall technology from a number of our strategic partners and integrate rules for both firewall behaviour and traffic protection with Internet Protocol security (IPsec).
VPN extends a private network across public networks like the internet. It enables remote workers and mobile users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if they were an integral part of the private network, with all the functionality, security and management policies of the private network.
We also utilise VPNs for remote access and site-to-site connectivity. In a business setting, remote access VPNs allow employees to access their files, applications and the SharePoint intranet from home or while traveling. Site-to-site VPNs allow employees in geographically separated offices to share one cohesive virtual network.
Nexus offer Secure Socket Layer (SSL) VPN solutions with end-point security that can provide on-demand remote access without the requirement for pre-installed client software. We build and support many different identity-based remote access solutions to suit operational restrictions and budgetary requirements.
Private Circuits & Broadband Internet
Nexus specialise in enabling organisations to extend their network by supplying private circuits and leased lines to connect to the internet or for connecting multiple sites together.
Our portfolio of private circuit connections provide dedicated, always-on, fixed bandwidth connectivity between two points. Packages start from 2 Mbit/s up to 1 Gbit/s and beyond. You can use these cost effective links to transport data, internet or communication traffic. Private circuits are cost effective, particularly if you have a lot of users sharing one internet connection or you need to exchange large amounts of traffic between sites or a business partner.
All network speeds can be delivered on a local or long distance basis. Our private circuit and leased line partners and providers offer stringent Service Level Agreements (SLA) for peace of mind.
You can also use private circuits to create Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and we offer a managed IT service where we can take care of everything for you.
With the increased adoption of unified communications, you can rely on Nexus to have the expertise to supply, install or support all of the key elements of your network infrastructure to deliver the next generation of telephony, conferencing and collaboration tools to your organisation.
Our unified communications experts can help you to design, plan and integrate gateways, IP PBXs, survivable branch appliances, session border controllers, load balancers, wireless access points or any other network infrastructure applicances to meet your strategies and goals.
We provide advice about a wide range of networking technologies, appliances and devices that are optimised for unified communication. You can also use our Technology Demo Suite to try out different manufacturer equipment or network topologies. We can even offer handset, headset, webcam and conferencing device trials or demonstrations.
VoIP & SIP Trunking
Nexus has selected a number of strategic partners to provide customers with VoIP and SIP connectivity service options.
SIP trunking provides access to and from the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) over the Internet Protocol (IP). Unlike traditional telephony where physical cabling was once delivered from a telecoms company, SIP trunking operates over an existing internet service allowing an organisation to replace their traditional fixed PSTN lines with a SIP trunking service provider.
To utilise SIP trunks you need either an IP enabled PBX or a media gateway. Outgoing calls are then routed out via the SIP trunk instead of using costly PSTN lines. SIP trunks offer significant cost-savings eliminating the need for analogue, ISDN BRIs (Basic Rate Interfaces) or PRIs (Primary Rate Interfaces).
Network Design & Installation
We offer an extensive portfolio of network infrastructure design and installation services aimed at all industries, with particular strengths in small business, education, local government, medium- and large enterprise-sized organisations.
Our team of consultants and engineers can supply network consultancy and analysis, audit and health checks, systems design or provide project management services to ensure your computer network is fit-for-purpose, scalable, robust and easy to manage.
Network Monitoring & Management
We supply and use many of the IT industry's leading network monitoring and management products. Our team can help you to integrate tools that provide unified management, monitoring and alerting capabilities that work across your entire network including switches, routers and WLAN equipment.
The IT management and security tools we offer suit organisations that want to reduce network installation, configuration and maintenance time, while providing a single view of their entire network infrastructure.
