South West Water Ltd (part of the Pennon Group plc.) employs over 1,300 staff. The organisation is responsible for maintaining and improving the region's bathing waters, environment, drinking water and waste water facilities.

Pennon Group Plc. is at the top end of the FTSE 250 and additionally own Viridor Ltd., one of the UK’s largest waste management companies. The group has assets of around £4.1 billion with combined annual turnover of £1,159m. South West Water has headquarters based in Exeter with offices and water treatment plants spread throughout multiple sites in the South West.

South West Water and Viridor have used Nexus’s private and public IT training courses for many years. Recently the Engineering directorate in South West Water had a requirement to implement Microsoft SharePoint 2010 for their delivery alliance H5O.  Due to the extensibility and flexibility of SharePoint, the organisation needed to understand how to maximise their investment in the software and ensure that technical and end user personnel received the appropriate training.

Nexus were requested to provide a Microsoft Certified Trainer to attend South West Water’s offices to advise key management personnel about best practice and outline common Microsoft SharePoint deployment techniques for large organisations. As a result of this consultancy, Nexus supplied a deployment recommendation plan and conducted training needs analysis to develop a programme of admin, developer and end user private training courses to be held at the Nexus training centre.

The SharePoint 2010 deployment consultancy and training programme at South West Water were successfully completed by Nexus between August and September 2011.
