Nexus won the contract to supply and install a new wide and local area network for Mid Devon District Council with an additional secure wireless network.

Solution

The district of Mid Devon covers an area of 353 square miles (568 sq km) in the heartland of Devon. It lies between Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Blackdown Hills. Mid Devon District Council (MDDC) provides public services to over 72,000 people in Mid Devon including the towns of Tiverton, Crediton and Cullompton.

Nexus have worked with MDDC for over ten years by helping to support their IT network and assisting with a number of innovative network infrastructure projects including:

  • LAN and WAN topology design services
  • Implementation of a 1200 port resilient voice and data network with 'Power over Ethernet' by Nortel
