G-Cloud 10 and new Managed Cyber Security Services
Nexus Open Systems is proud to announce its acceptance on the G-Cloud 10 framework, reflecting its position as a leading technology partner for the public sector. G-Cloud 10 marks the fifth year running since Nexus was first certified as a Government supplier for cloud hosting, cloud software and cloud support services.
The G-Cloud framework is an agreement between the government and cloud-based service providers which provides the public sector and central Government access to a wider pool of SME suppliers. Organisations can source G-Cloud service providers through the Digital Marketplace where suppliers list their service description, service definition, rate card or pricing schedule and terms and conditions.
Nexus will be listing 24 services across the cloud hosting, cloud software and cloud support categories. This will include intelligent communications products aimed at enhancing workforce agility and productivity, such as Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business and Phone System in Office 365.
The 10th iteration of G-Cloud now includes cyber security services, indicative of the current digital landscape and changing demands from buyers. Nexus is delighted to offer a new range of innovative managed services that will help protect businesses from cyber threats and malware. These include a managed cyber security service, antivirus and web filtering service, email security services and business continuity and disaster recovery services.
New services will also include the core support offerings, namely Nexus Managed IT Service Advanced, Managed IT Service Premier, Guardian for IT Pros and Guardian for Business.
For smaller, more agile cloud-based suppliers, the G-Cloud framework opens a door to larger corporations who might usually be monopolised by bigger players in the cloud industry. In the previous G-Cloud 9 framework, 70% of the 2,800 suppliers listed were SMEs.
The framework offers a more efficient and cost-effective process for government organisation’s to purchase services as it eliminates the need to enter into individual procurement contracts. In G-Cloud, organisations can sign a ‘call-off contract’ with suppliers based on each service bought through the framework. Public sector buyers can benefit from greater flexibility to evaluate their options and source the best products for their business. As of the 31st March this year, sales on G-Cloud have almost quadrupled since G-Cloud 7, amounting to £3.127bn.
