Location: We are hybrid working, offering flexibility to work from home and in our Exeter office. You’re likely to be in the office 1 day a month.

What does the role involve?

  • Working with other departments to create and maintain the portfolio of services that we provide to our clients.
  • Reviewing technology advancements and customer requirements and ensuring we remain agile and able to meet demands.
  • Assisting in pre-sales work, providing technical expertise and strategic direction to supply our clients with a solution that meets their needs.
  • Providing and managing the scope of works required to deliver a solution and  carry out the implementation. It’s a hand’s on role! 
  • Documenting the implementation so the solution is supportable by either the client’s inhouse IT department or our service delivery team.
  • Awareness of the importance of Information Security policies and processes applicable to our organisation and our ISO27001 Certification.

What do I need to succeed?

To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will possess:

  • Great interpersonal skills, written skills and an excellent telephone manner.
  • A demonstratable understanding of your Unified Communications specialism.
  • Experience in previous roles of specification, design and deployment in a range of core products.
  • Demonstratable ability to match specific services to be viable solutions for our clients.

Essential skills and behaviours

  • Experience in at least two of the following technologies:
    • Skype for Business/Lync
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Exchange 2007 or above
  • Audiocodes/Sonus Sessions Border Controllers administration and support
  • Anywhere 365 Contact Centre solutions
  • Competent in working with SSL Certificates
  • Load balancing technologies administration and support
  • Understand core telephony concepts such as signaling, codecs, dial plans, phone number manipulation, call routing
  • Call quality analytics and reporting experience
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN concepts and infrastructure
  • Experience with Enterprise Voice deployment and rollout
  • Experience integrating IP and TDM based telephony systems
  • Competent in server administration, installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server and accompanying roles such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Exchange, Group Policy, SQL, RRAS.
  • For onsite work, a Full UK driving license is required and own car with Business Insurance.

Desirable skills and behaviours

  • Microsoft Exchange administration and support.
  • Microsoft SharePoint administration and support.
  • Microsoft Office 365 migration and deployment experience.
  • Working knowledge of VMware & Hyper-Vadministration and support.
  • Familiarity with SANs and accompanying technologies.
  • Familiarity with Backup solutions, strategies and restoring data. (Backup Exec, Veeam.)
  • Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop.
  • Cisco Routing & Switching.
  • Dell, HP, IBM and other major IT vendor accreditations.
  • Scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell
  • Experience with legacy telephony/PBX systems


Practical experience is key, however we also look for MCSA certifications to evidence the ability and motivation to learn and deliver excellent IT solutions. By the end of your probationary period, we will expect you to work towards several vendor certifications.

When and where will I be working?

We support our clients when they need it, so we ensure we are available from 8am to 6pm during the working week (Mon-Fri). We work a rota to ensure there’s sufficient people to cover this but try to be as flexible as possible.

Working hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week.
