The Role
What does a Business Development Executive role involve?
As a Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for the generation of new logo business revenue including leads, identifying potential clients, nurturing relationships and guiding them through the sales process. You will be talking to potential clients and identifying those who fit our solutions and services based on their needs, budget and timeline. As well as being responsible for generating your own leads and appointments, you’ll also follow up on inbound enquires and our marketing campaigns.
Working within an established team of sales professionals, you’ll be given time to learn and understand IT sales.
Your daily duties once established will include:
- Using a variety of methods to generate leads including telemarketing, cold-calling, direct mail, print advertising and referral programmes.
- Supporting our marketing efforts to promote business activity and attending new business events.
- Qualifying and nurturing prospects and setting up first time appointments with the outside sales team.
- Ensuring the customer relationship management database is kept clean and accurate.
About You
What do I need to succeed?
To join us as a Business Development Executive you will need:
- Proven experience in inside sales or telemarketing and business to business solution sales.
- Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills across all platforms.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with potential clients.
- Ability to handle objections and steer conversations effectively.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales processing software.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle with suitable insurance for travel to client meetings and business events.
It will be desirable to have:
- Experience in the managed service provider (MSP) industry.
- Knowledge of the TruMethods or equivalent sales process.
- Demonstrable analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Broad knowledge of technical solutions for business.
- Awareness of the importance of Information Security policies and processes for ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Salary: £27,500 per annum plus commission
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Exeter with hybrid working
This role is based in our Exeter office with the opportunity for hybrid working. We will expect you to work in the office at least two days a week plus at other times as required. You will also be expected to attend networking events and meet clients on site. Occasionally networking events may take place in the evening.
You will need to be able to drive and provide your own vehicle with insurance for travel to client meetings and business events.
